Wolverine, Professor X, Cyclops, Storm & More

Stern’s Uncanny X-Men pinball machines feature Wolverine, Professor X, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Bishop, Kitty Pryde, and Magneto, along with a supporting cast of allies and foes. The adventure takes players to familiar X-Men locations including the Danger Room, Beast’s Lab, the X-Mansion, and Genosha. Uncanny X-Men Pinball: Unique Pinball Layout

The Uncanny X-Men playfield is a unique pinball layout that features an array of new crossing shots and ramp designs with surprising ball trajectories to deliver kinetic satisfaction. The all-new Danger Room design, located to the left of the main flippers, offers a high-risk, high-reward experience that includes a mini-flipper and a novel outlane spinner. Premium and Limited Edition models also include an all-new elevated captive ball vari-target themed as Beast’s Lab. The Uncanny X-Men also features a mechanically articulated Sentinel for the player to battle. The Sentinel’s large robotic head changes its state based on the player’s actions. In the Premium and Limited Edition models, the Sentinel rises from underneath the playfield and fights back by destroying the player’s ramps or attacking the ball with its extended hands.

Pinball Heaven Resigns as American Pinball UK Distributors

We are sad to announce that with immediate effect Pinball Heaven has resigned as American Pinball Distributors for the UK.

Pinball Heaven has promoted the American Pinball brand for many years, buying and stocking many of their games, often despite low demand and sales. We continued to actively promote American Pinball, just last month sending many of their games to UK PinFest. However, and without notice, we subsequently discovered that American Pinball has added another UK Distributor to the tiny UK market. This unfortunately doesn’t work for us and makes actively promoting American Pinball in the UK unworkable.

For the past 30 years Pinball Heaven has prided itself on delivering top quality service and support to all its customers. To enable us to achieve this level of service, we in turn require support from our suppliers. Without this manufacturer support, the end user inevitably suffers. Given the recent change in distribution policy by American Pinball, we now therefore consider it no longer viable for Pinball Heaven to promote and distribute American Pinball products.

Moving forward Pinball Heaven will no longer be working with, promoting, or distributing American Pinball and will instead concentrate on further developing the excellent relationships we have with our existing portfolio of pinball machine and pinball accessory distributorships.

Recent rumours have suggested that Stern Pinball is about to launch an X-Men pinball machine, based on the successful Marvel Comics superhero team. And with a teaser video appearing on Stern’s YouTube channel and Stern’s website suggesting a launch date of 9th September, what are we to expect from their latest offering?

Created by writer/editor Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby, X-Men first appeared in 1963. Following their 1975 revival and subsequent direction under writer Chris Claremont, X-Men became one of Marvel’s most recognisable and successful franchises. They have appeared in numerous books, television shows, 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films, video games., and now a Stern pinball machine.

Pinball Heaven recently installed a Foo Fighters premium pinball machine on hire in the corporate hospitality area of the Emirates Old Trafford stadium in Manchester for the start of the UK leg of the Foo Fighters Everything or Nothing at All tour. The tour supports their eleventh studio album, “But Here We Are,” and includes a series of stadium shows across North America and the UK.

“Do you love rock’n’roll music?”

The Pinball Heaven Foo Fighters Premium kept fans entertained until the band took to the stage at 7.40pm, with Dave Ghrol screaming “Do you love rock’n’roll music?” before delighting the 50,000 strong crowd with an incredible two and a half hour set of Foo Fighters classics, kicking off with Monkey Wrench and eventually closing the show at 10.15pm with a huge Manchester singalong of Best of You.

This was the first time the Foo Fighters had played in Manchester since June 2018 and the atmosphere was electric, so what better place to install a Foo Fighters premium pinball machine!

Back to the Future in 2024 or 2025?

Rumours have been circulating for some time suggesting that Dutch Pinball is planning to release a new “Back to the Future” pinball machine. The anticipated reveal is said to be set for the 40th annual Chicago Pinball Expo in October 2024. However, another train of thought suggests the reveal could be set to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Back to the Future film in 2025. So, will Dutch Pinball release a sequel to the iconic 1990 Data East Back to the Future pinball machine, and if so, when?

The 40th anniversary of “Back to the Future”

The “Back to the Future” film series, directed by Robert Zemeckis and produced by Steven Spielberg, follows the time-traveling adventures of teenager Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and eccentric scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). The trilogy spans from 1985 to 1990, with Marty and Doc traveling between the 1950s, 1980s, the future year of 2015, and even the Old West. The films are celebrated for their innovative storytelling, memorable characters, and ground-breaking special effects, making them a cultural phenomenon and beloved classics in the science fiction genre.
