Original white pinball rubbers were reactive and delivered great bounce, but they tended to become dirty more quickly and could quickly soon lose their aesthetic appeal. Whereas, standard black rubbers hide dirt well and offer an acceptable mix of durability, aesthetics and playability. However both white and black pinball rubbers have to be replaced every few years as they age, deteriorate and break down, and their game performance starts to fail.
