The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a 1974 horror film directed by Tobe Hooper. The film follows Sally and her brother Franklin who set out with friends to investigate after hearing their grandfathers grave has been vandalised. After a detour to their family’s old farmhouse they discover a group of crazed, murderous outcasts living next door. As the group is picked-off one by one by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface and his family of psychopathic killers, the survivors must do everything they can to escape.

The film was a box office success and it’s widely considered a classic of the horror genre and has a strong cult following. Its iconic imagery and brutal violence continue to shock and terrify audiences, it’s also considered one of the most influential horror films of all time.
