SpaceBar Arcade – Our Latest Pinball Installation

SpaceBar Arcade in Sunderland now features the exciting addition of Jaws Pro and Stranger Things Pro pinball machines, recently installed by Pinball Heaven.

SpaceBar is Sunderland’s vibrant arcade and cocktail bar, offering a nostalgic yet modern gaming experience. Located in the former Spot White snooker hall at Waterloo Place, it opened its doors on April 5, 2024, and has quickly become a popular destination for both casual visitors and gaming enthusiasts.​

Spacebar Arcade Games & Entertainment

The venue boasts around 30 arcade machines, featuring classics like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Street Fighter II, alongside modern games such as Fortnite and dance machines. Additionally, it offers next-generation consoles, retro gaming setups, and tabletop games like foosball, shuffleboard, and pool tables. The gaming area spans two floors, providing ample space for guests to enjoy. ​

Jaws & Stranger Things Pinball Machines

The Jaws and Stranger Things pinball machines recently installed by Pinball Heaven will further enhance the already spectacular array of gaming machines available to play at SpaceBar Arcade, and will no doubt be the first of many machines to be heading north to Sunderland.

SpaceBar Arcade – Opening Hours

The bar operates from 11am to 2am Sunday through Thursday, and from 10am to 6am on Fridays and Saturdays. Games are accessed via a token system, priced at £8 for 15 tokens.

The arcade welcomes guests of all ages until 7pm, after which it becomes an adults-only venue. It offers private hire options with themed rooms equipped with self-serve kegs, making it suitable for parties and events. ​

Cocktails & Atmosphere

SpaceBar features a colorful cocktail menu with themed drinks, including the glow-in-the-dark Slimer and Proper Mortal Kombat cocktails. The bar also serves Duff beer for fans of The Simpsons. The interior is adorned with neon art by local artist Frank Styles and even houses a rare Slimer model from the original Ghostbusters films, one of only 50 in the world.
