Pulp Fiction is a retro-inspired full-featured modern pinball machine. Developed by Chicago Gaming at the request of Quentin Tarantino who wanted a 1980’s style Pulp Fiction themed pinball machine for his home. Tarantino’s continued involvement throughout the project shaped the final game. Tarantino rarely licenses his intellectual property, it is a unique privilege to produce a game which pays tribute to this masterpiece.
Legendary pinball designer Mark Ritchie
Legendary pinball designer Mark Ritchie masterfully crafted a playfield which on its surface appears comparable to games from this era but outside of initial perception features more mechanisms and greater depth than most games produced today. David Thiel forcefully pulls the player into this world utilizing over 250 iconic lines from Pulp Fiction’s legendary cast, five licensed songs from the original movie soundtrack, and a number of original compositions. Josh Sharpe developed an approachable rule set that is both intuitive and deep enough to engage even the most skilled player. Scott Pikulski’s vintage inspired art package is both stunning and perfectly cohesive.
Pulp Fiction Pinball Machine Features
All models feature a playfield with custom artwork highlighting characters such as Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, Mia Wallace, Winston Wolf, and Jimmie Dimmick. The Pulp Fiction Pinball Machine also comes with a unique gun magnet capable of catching and releasing pinballs, as well as custom-sculpted figures of Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, a “Royale With Cheese” burger, an illuminated gold watch, and an interactive briefcase.
Standard features across all models include four memory drop targets, three-bank drop targets, two adrenaline heart hall effect spinning targets, and five multiball modes such as “Briefcase Boogie” and “Pawn Shop Panic.” The game includes five roll scene modes, including “Twist Contest,” “BMF Wallet,” “Gold Watch,” “Clean The Car,” and “The Shot.” Three mini-wizard modes: “Cast Chaos,” “Pulp Fiction Frenzy,” and “The Shot”—and a special “Divine Intervention” wizard mode are also included in all models.
Playfield plastics feature custom artwork of characters including Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, Butch Coolidge, Captain Koons, and Pumpkin & Honey Bunny. All models also include a 3-ball subway locking assembly in the pawn shop and a 3-ball briefcase locking mechanism.
The pinball machine also boasts a classic cabinet and backbox design, adorned with hand-drawn Pulp Fiction art. Retro-style 13-segment alphanumeric LED scoring displays, a knocker assembly, and RGB LED general illumination lighting are standard in all versions. Additionally, the lower arch features a fully integrated RGB LED lighting system and 15 software-controlled RGB LED inserts.
Pulp Fiction soundtrack
Five licensed tracks from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack are included: “Comanche,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Misirlou,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “You Never Can Tell.” These songs are featured in all models. The audio package, designed by David Thiel, delivers custom sound and music, available on all models. Each machine includes a mirrored backglass showcasing custom, hand-drawn artwork inspired by the legendary Jack Rabbit Slim’s dance scene.
